UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The Basics

Lately, I have been observing the infrastructural projects going on around my community, and it is obvious that every project that is still under construction is not fit and ready for usage yet until completed. No matter how the project itself desires to be used, it has to be properly and thoroughly worked upon before it is certified fit for use.

Your Life Is a Project

Before you came to be, God has travelled through the length and breadth of your life;  He has seen Alpha to Zulu and everything in between. He is the divine architect who has designed the blueprint of your life, the kind of tools and materials needed to build your life and the type of people needed to work upon your life. Your life is a project, God is the supervisor, the chief project lead on-site, and until he is done making you, you are cannot be fit to fulfil any purpose.

Under Construction – The Process

To be under construction simply refers to a building, structure, or project that is unfinished but is actively being worked upon and is still in the process of making. If the construction is poorly done, the project won’t fulfil its purpose. If it is left halfway, the structure will not be fit for use and if the process is not completed, the building will be of no use to anyone but for other purposes short of what it is originally designed for.

When was the last time you saw an architectural sketch of a building on paper? I bet it was beautiful and appealing right? However, it is one thing to have a sketch on paper and another to bring such to life. When the rubber hit the road and workers are on-site to start working, (which is the process) then, the ingenuity of the blueprint will be put to test. God is infallible, He has the blueprint of your life all figured out and He has everything put in place to build your life. To convert the blueprint of your life to reality. Your life is under construction.

The Essence of the Process

Just like a building, structure and project that must be completed before it is fit for use, so is your life. The process of the construction is never rosy, it is messy and rigorous. Daily, the process is a mixture of dust, hard pressing, pain and sometimes exposure to harsh and unpleasant weather. The essence is to bring out the intended original blueprint. If there is no construction process, there won’t be a project at the end of the day.

I know you can relate with your process of making and construction as you read this, and you may be whispering, this guy has no idea how deep it hurts and breaks me. Trust me, I am mortal and we all bleed the same. I am going through my “under construction” process as well. But for what its worth, it is for our best. Abandoned, unfinished projects in this part of the world end up being an opened toilets and meeting point for hoodlums in the community. I know you will not want your life to be like that.

What is in for you?

Quickly, let me draw some applications from these illustrations. Have you observed that most often in Nigeria (I don’t know about other countries), the sites of new projects especially big ones will be caged and fenced before the real project is constructed? God has to cage your life and isolate you from the stares and eyes of the crowd, to make you, build you and construct you before introducing you to the world. Stay through the process of your construction no matter how tough and rough it gets. Truth is, you cannot be used half-constructed any more than food can’t be eaten half done.

Don’t be anxious and in a hurry to be used when the grand designer of your life is not done with your life. Stay through and remain true, let him build you, allow him to make you, fitting every part of you beautifully together. Let him establish you through the process and announce you himself in due time. When He is done with you, He will launch you in grand style.

OUR LOVE STORY - WAL & NEN

HOW WE MET Wal We have been friends on Facebook for quite some time but have not been conversing until December 6th, 2020, when she first replied to my message. That evening marked the beginning of the journey that led us here. We quickly blended in conversation, intellectually and spiritually, and by Christmas, we had agreed to meet for the first time by December 30th at the Jos Wildlife Park. Well, that meeting defined everything that we have today for me. I had told my kid brother two days earlier that once I meet her, and if the physical Meemwa aligns with the virtual one, that would be the bus stop for me - I would have found my wife. Meemwa One faithful morning I woke up and decided to check my messages on Facebook and came across new messages which I replied to and got an immediate response from this young man we started chatting on Facebook and after some days my cousin and friend came to visit, and I was giving them updates then they asked of the name and it turned o

IF YOU WERE PHILIP

Permit me to tell you a bit about Philip. I met Philip in our undergraduate days at the University of Jos. He was never late even though he usually comes from home. I tried several times to beat him in punctuality but I failed on several attempts. Philip was cheerful, full of life, and always the spark of the house.  Last week was a tough yet defining week for me, I lost Philip who has been a friend for 10 years. Did I see it coming? Certainly not. Was I anticipating it sooner? I doubt it. But will we all die? Of course yes.  This is not a tribute but be patient with me as I share with you the lessons I have learned at the cause of his demise this week. I have no doubt they will bless your heart. Philip lived well : I know people are often guilty of saying things about people who are gone that are not usually true, but with a deep sense of honesty, humility, and certitude, at 27, Philip lived well. This is no fallacy, this young man touched lives everywhere he went, if not with his s

THE CRACKED POT

There was once a servant water bearer who had two pots tied to a wooden bar, which he used to hang on his shoulder to supply water to his master from a stream down the hilly house. The pot on the left side is perfect and in good shape fulfilling its purpose effectively, whereas the one on the right is cracked and leaks water right from the stream up to the master’s house. For two years, the water bearer kept using those two pots just the way they were, with the perfect pot delivering full quantity of water and the cracked one delivering just half. Hence for two good years, the water bearer could only deliver one and half pot of water to his master on every trip he made to the stream instead of   two whole pots which ought to be some sort of reward for his effort of shouldering two pots. One fateful day, the cracked pot got worried and apologized to the water bearer, expressing how sorry it was for the imperfection that has marred its being, for leaking water from the stre
