APPLICATIONS/SOFWARES

This piece is rather going to be a short, apt, and precise one. However, I hope, the message will be clear, straight and simple for comprehension to all and sundry. I therefore urge you to read it with keen interest and also with an opened mind.
We live in a generation invaded by an ever increasing technological advancement; thus, we have diverse technological devices and appliances to our daily benefits; chiefly the laptops and the smartphones. These laptops and smartphones have several softwares and applications that make them effective for usage. These softwares and applications have unique and different functions that meaningful usage of them will enable the devices to achieve their predefined purposes.
Most often, many people have different softwares on their laptops and a host of applications on their smartphones; however, failure to put these softwares and applications into meaningful usage is like building houses you don’t live in only to be occupied by rodents and their likes. Every software and application has a unique purpose it performs in every device, and where purpose is not adequately defined, abuse is certainly inevitable. Therefore, some softwares or applications are necessary or major prerequisites for the running of the device while others are merely optional.
Enough of technology; what does this obvious technological illustration trying to tell us? Our lives are like well-designed technological devices, amazing masterpieces of God’s great technology, with the right installations of the suitable and relevant softwares or applications, fulfillment of our purpose is assured. God therefore desires that all softwares and applications that we install in our lives as His custom made devices be put to accurate and adequate usage to bring Him glory and also to benefit us and our generation.
Most relevantly, what are these softwares and applications we are supposed to install in our lives every day? Answering this question rightly will set one’s life in the right course of purpose fulfilling operation. These softwares and applications are our habits, attitudes and characters that we display every day. Again, they can be friends, mentors, models and other people we have given them authority over our lives; also, some of these applications and softwares are relationships, contemporaries and colleagues.
The rightful installation of the above mentioned softwares and applications into our lives will keep our lives focused and steady on fulfilling our destiny and life’s purpose. If you are to check throughout history the record of men and women that succeeded or failed, you will realize that their success or failure is somehow related to one or more of the above listed softwares or applications. So it is pertinent to note here that the kind of softwares and applications you install in your life’s system or devices will determine your subsequent success or failure in life.
Thus, what and how are your habits? How functional is your attitude? How edifying is your character? Who are your friends? Who are your mentors and models?  How beneficial are your relationships, how helpful are your contemporaries and colleagues? I deeply believe that answering these questions aright will change your life and ensure that fulfilling your life’s purpose comes with certainty. It is worthy of note here that not every habit, attitude and character is worth installing in your life’s system or device. Installing the wrong thing is equivalent to getting wrong results and installing the right ones means getting maximum and fruitful results.
To wrap it up, are the softwares or applications in your life’s system or device enabling you to operate effectively and functionally or are they merely filling up space, slowing and weighing you down? Are there softwares and applications you need to install in your life starting from now? Are there also others you need to uninstall with immediate effect? I dare you to answer these two questions with utmost sense of sincerity and earnestness, if you do, I bet you your life will flow with operational efficacy, maximum relevance and lasting fruitfulness.

Don’t keep or install needless softwares and applications into the precious device of your life, because the beauty and essence of life is the meaningful application and installation of life’s softwares and applications in every day’s life.

OUR LOVE STORY - WAL & NEN

HOW WE MET Wal We have been friends on Facebook for quite some time but have not been conversing until December 6th, 2020, when she first replied to my message. That evening marked the beginning of the journey that led us here. We quickly blended in conversation, intellectually and spiritually, and by Christmas, we had agreed to meet for the first time by December 30th at the Jos Wildlife Park. Well, that meeting defined everything that we have today for me. I had told my kid brother two days earlier that once I meet her, and if the physical Meemwa aligns with the virtual one, that would be the bus stop for me - I would have found my wife. Meemwa One faithful morning I woke up and decided to check my messages on Facebook and came across new messages which I replied to and got an immediate response from this young man we started chatting on Facebook and after some days my cousin and friend came to visit, and I was giving them updates then they asked of the name and it turned o

IF YOU WERE PHILIP

Permit me to tell you a bit about Philip. I met Philip in our undergraduate days at the University of Jos. He was never late even though he usually comes from home. I tried several times to beat him in punctuality but I failed on several attempts. Philip was cheerful, full of life, and always the spark of the house.  Last week was a tough yet defining week for me, I lost Philip who has been a friend for 10 years. Did I see it coming? Certainly not. Was I anticipating it sooner? I doubt it. But will we all die? Of course yes.  This is not a tribute but be patient with me as I share with you the lessons I have learned at the cause of his demise this week. I have no doubt they will bless your heart. Philip lived well : I know people are often guilty of saying things about people who are gone that are not usually true, but with a deep sense of honesty, humility, and certitude, at 27, Philip lived well. This is no fallacy, this young man touched lives everywhere he went, if not with his s

THE CRACKED POT

There was once a servant water bearer who had two pots tied to a wooden bar, which he used to hang on his shoulder to supply water to his master from a stream down the hilly house. The pot on the left side is perfect and in good shape fulfilling its purpose effectively, whereas the one on the right is cracked and leaks water right from the stream up to the master’s house. For two years, the water bearer kept using those two pots just the way they were, with the perfect pot delivering full quantity of water and the cracked one delivering just half. Hence for two good years, the water bearer could only deliver one and half pot of water to his master on every trip he made to the stream instead of   two whole pots which ought to be some sort of reward for his effort of shouldering two pots. One fateful day, the cracked pot got worried and apologized to the water bearer, expressing how sorry it was for the imperfection that has marred its being, for leaking water from the stre
