WHEELS


This piece revolves around thoughts or thinking patterns and how they influence the outcome of our lives. I know you may be wondering, what is the relationship between your thoughts and wheels? All I can tell you for now is, your thoughts are powerful super wheels.

I first began the art and act of intentional positive thinking four years ago when I read “The battlefield of the Mind” by Joyce Meyer. She said that one of the greatest battles going on in the mind is the battle of thinking, the daily haggling with our thoughts either positive or negative. The brain tattoo I got from that book was the fact that we should give thought to our thoughts, as they largely determine the direction towards which our life goes.  

In his book, “Make Today Count”. John C. Maxwell gave 12 dozens that if we desire to make each day a masterpiece, we have to daily decide, think and capitalize on them; thinking is #number 5. He added that daily, we need to decide to think creative thoughts, reflective thoughts, unselfish thoughts and thoughts that will build our lives and be disciplined enough to follow through with them. 

Practically now, how is your thought pattern? How healthy and productive is your thought life? It is pertinent you know that you are not different from your thoughts. They may be just in your heart, far away from the gaze of the crowd, but when they are fully brooded upon, their subsequent outcome will be visible even to the blind. Ideas in the soil of our hearts/minds are seeds, the thought we give to them supply them with the necessary nutrients to germinate, grow and produce fruits whether good or bad; and the fruits won’t be in any way be different from the seeds they emanated from. Watch your thoughts. 

Daily, we experience life through the things we do and the people we meet; these experiences usually leave us with so much to think about, and the way and manner we think about them will determine how we react to them and what they produce out of our lives as well. The mind is a fertile soil that goes to work (think) immediately on every input we feed it with, this alone is enough reason to watch what you feed your mind with. 

Wheels – Our thought patterns are the wheels upon which we ride the journey of life; the kind of things we think about determines whether we arrive at our desired destination at the end of the day or not. Who you are today and where you are today is largely the product of the thoughts you had yesterday and acted upon.  Tattoo this on your brain, carry it anywhere anytime in your life: right living begins with right thinking, the content of your thoughts determines the quality of your life. Give thought to your thoughts, for no man ever wins or lose without first thinking it in his mind. Succinctly, everything we do or fail to do is the product of our thoughts. 

Proverbs 23:7, (arguably one of the best books of wisdom for life) put it this way: “for as he thinks within himself, so he is”. Inferring from this, it is safe to say that you are your thoughts, you cannot in any way be different from the things that fill your thoughts. Your outworking is directly proportionate to the in-working of your thoughts.  

The kind of thought some people have about themselves is so disheartening. How do you see yourself in your mind-eye? What do you think about yourself? A success or a failure? A major character or a "waka pass" (A supporting or minute) character on the stage of life? Let me assure you that the way you see or think about yourself is the way your life will pan out. For the first limit you will encounter in life is that which you have placed upon yourself in your mind/thoughts.

Permit me to ask you what are the thoughts dominating your mind as you read these words? If you are found awake late at night what are the thoughts that keep you awake? How healthy to your spirit, soul and body is the content of your heart/mind when it comes to thought? Know that if you can keep hold of your thoughts, your life will be more productive.

Let me task you a bit, create the habit of creative and productive thinking. Set a time and a place to think. Feed your mind with good content, meditate intentionally and watch how incredible your life will turn out. World changers and history makers are thinkers. Never underestimate the power of thoughts.

If you fail to gate-keep the content of your thoughts, you will soon realise too late that there is no more mind/life left to keep. Be deliberate henceforth with your thought and thinking pattern, daily watch and guard your heart and mind above all else, for out of the content of your mind comes the issues of life.

JUST A DAY OFF

O ne of the things I have been consistent with this year is “morning runs”; I exercise three times a week, alternating between the week days. SPRINKLE IT AROUND

  So a friend who is doing very well in her catering business shared a screenshot of her conversation with a client yesterday on Facebook, and I was honestly amazed because what I saw was a confirmation of the burden I have been brooding over lately.  Let me share this with you in the screenshot image below.
