DISTRACTIONS

About a week ago, a brother was sharing about an evergreen issue that has been with us for as long as man has been. It was to a group of young people and I sense it was timely because lately, I have been brooding over the same issue personally. Permit me to share a bit with you, perhaps it just might change your life. The topic of discourse was DISTRACTIONS. the crux of his message was, the devil has no issue with you being born or designed for greatness, but one thing he is majorly preoccupied with is orchestrating suitable and multifaceted distractions that will enable you to just live with the idea of greatness in your head but not live in the reality of the same. Distraction is something or someone who distracts; this simply means that your attention is being diverted and you have been veered off course. I see something here, there can only be a distraction when there is a set goal to achieve, distractions can only be effective and potent when you have a destiny and purpose to fulf

FAITHFULNESS

Four years back, I was having a conversation with my aged father, and he said something thought-provoking to me, he said to me: “Son, faithfulness is long gone in this your generation, life has changed and things are not as obtained in our time”. Afterwards, several questions kept coming to my mind about faithfulness, and gauging it with my life, I understood that faithfulness is not just a word but a basic principle of life.  Faithfulness is the state of being faithful, being faithful simply means being loyal, having faith, being reliable and worthy of trust. Faithfulness in its real sense and essence is a trait to be exhibited in everything we do or say and not a postulated theory that needs to be validated or otherwise.  The application of the word faithfulness has no exception because of its relevance and implication span from the minutest to the maximal detail of our lives. If only we as people created by an ever-faithful God and in his image will internalize the reality of this p

OURS TO CHANGE

Sometimes in 2019 I wrote and published a piece titled “ Ours to change ” against the 2019 general election; inferring from the current unfolding of events in our nation, I am left with no option than to retouch this piece and share it again as it carries some nuggets that will guide us as we commemorate the 2021 democracy day. However, the burden I have is heavier than this single piece; hence I will try to capture that which is relevant for the season – June 12th. Our Current Reality   "NEXT LEVEL”, “LETS GET NIGERIA WORKING AGAIN”; I know these two slogans strike a chord in your faculty of reasoning. However, do they in any way provoke nostalgic and saddening thoughts in your mind? Can you say with a significant degree of certitude that you are comfortable with the pragmatic connotative and denotative meaning of these words? As long as these words are concerned, the questions can go on and on in the quest of finding constructive, society-oriented and definite answers. For the p

THE MIRACLE

This will be one of my shortest and straight the point piece. I pray that you behold the wonder therein.  S o last week was a tough long week for me. It started like any other normal week but panned out beyond my imagination. You see, I dragged with my health, almost a week without proper sleep, with pains, shivers, tears and loss of appetite. I was reminded of a reality we often take for granted. We live in a world that craves wonder and miracle, daily people long for another event, new episode or fresh scenario that will give them that "wow" thrill. Even the unbeliever cannot disbelief in a tangible miracle. Yet, we have the greatest of all miracle with us daily that we fail to see and relish. In my travail last week, I was reminded of those that hitherto have spent most of their lives in the hospital, or visiting the doctors. My attention was drawn to those who have the knowledge, power, access, money, and all the right connections but cannot enjoy good health. I was rem
