MADE FOR A TIME AS THIS

I have read about a beautiful damsel long time ago who came from a humble background, and then ascended to the position of a queen though in a foreign land. A conspiracy was made against her people to wipe them out entirely, and if there was anybody who could do anything to prevent such heinous genocide from happening, she was the one. Indeed, she did something and saved the lives of her people from the imminent destruction, because she had a sense of purpose, she knew she was made a queen for such a time as that. Time and space has brought us to a dispensation where things are falling apart, the centre can no longer hold and things are moving from bad to worse. Nothing seems to make sense, corruption surrounds us and the system has failed us. People and places that used to be pillars of the society and places of refuge are now the opposite of what is obtained in time past. Honestly, our society only celebrates the survival of the fittest; hence the weak, the poor and the less

THE PAST, THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE

Have you ever felt like what is behind is pulling you back? Do you feel as if your memories of yesterday are your greatest nightmares of today? Or are your actions of yesterday fast becoming your biggest undoing today? Are your present challenges scaring you to the point that life is not making sense anymore? Do you feel as if the whole world is currently upon your shoulders because of the way things are turning out for you today? Or better still, are the uncertainties of tomorrow giving you sleepless nights? These collections of questions capture the three cardinal forces that have been robbing men and women of living a purposeful and fulfilling life over the years. Life is a priceless and precious gift given to every mortal by God to live once but meaningfully and in accordance to his will; however, it is full of what you planned for and what you never planned for, it is bound by time and it is torn in between several forces. Understanding the realities of all these factors

SUCCESSFUL FAILURES

It has been five months after my arrival in this simple and hospitable village for my National Youth Service; my life circle in the village was indeed simple and predictable as I only had few places to go for an entire day. Hence, aside from being in the school and the Corpers’ lodge, I should be in the pharmacy were I charge my phones and get manageable network coverage to make my time to time calls or the viewing centre. One blessed evening as I was seating at the front of the pharmacy which happens to be where I spent most of my evenings and free times, a sales boy came out dancing a particular dance step that I am used to, this is what he said to me: “This is how I will be dancing when you finish your service and when you are gone” Well, this piece is not to bore you with the story of my adventurous youth service year, but the statement made by the sales boy that faithful evening was congruent to a burden I was musing in my heart, which had to do with successful people rai

CHARACTER THE IGNORED NECESSITY OF LIFE

Scattered throughout the inscriptions and pages of history, from the beginning of ancient civilization, right down to where time and space has brought us today, are the tragic stories and exploits of men and women who rose to the apex of affluence and influence in life. Among them were people who exercised and wielded great power, displayed outstanding skills, showed rare courage and bravery, and portrayed exquisite expertise and charisma in all their dealings. Throughout their lifetime, they were purposeful, resilient, committed, devoted and even died determined. It won’t be wrong to say, that these great men fulfilled their destinies; yet, most of them failed in the most commonest and overlooked yet needful area of life which is character In a simpler sense, character is that enduring trait and part of a person that is being displayed regardless of time and place. In his book “In Charge – Finding the Leader within You” Myles Munroe posited the foundational concept of the word
